About me
I discovered Pilates several years ago after a back injury left me with constant pain and my body completely out of balance. I had pain sitting, standing and walking. Pilates was recommended as part of my rehabilitation and the difference it made was incredible. Even the first session was eye-opening as I discovered how bad my posture had become, and how that was affecting all parts of my body.
Pilates was the key part of my recovery, and once I was pain-free, there was no way I was giving it up! While working in a job that required a lot of sitting behind a desk, it enabled me to avoid the lower back pain and stiffness I’d constantly had to put up with throughout my working life, and the sense of wellbeing during and after a Pilates class became something I didn’t want to miss. So, I decided to take the plunge and turn my passion into my career.
I trained with the internationally renowned Body Control Pilates, whose matwork education programme is widely regarded as being one of the best in the world. This means you can be assured that my teaching methods are modern, safe and effective.
I’m also a qualified Back4Good® practitioner, which means I can help those with low back pain through safe and effective Pilates-based exercises. This qualification is endorsed by BackCare, the UK charity for healthier backs, by leading medical practitioners, and by the independent bodies who oversee quality and standards for the UK health and fitness industry.
I also have specialised qualifications for working with older adults, so don’t let age put you off starting a class!

- Matwork: Body Control Pilates
- Active iQ Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork
- Level 3 Certificate in Physical Activity and Health Considerations for the Older Adult
